The Grimoire
‘Nothing can prepare you for what is about to happen. After the uprising, Sintar used to be such a lovely place, a place where wizards and the non-magical lived in harmony. However, now it’s full of anxiety and fear. Crime has risen and the Council can’t seem to handle the evil magic that plagues society; and Therolius Delrunt, the Overlord has to do something fast to restore the face of wizardry. But most wizards fear for magic and their wands. So there is no hope, is there? The evil Lex Talionis are getting stronger and their leader hungers for one thing – The Grimoire. Why does he lust for it? How will he get past Therolius? Surely it’s just a matter of time, as nobody can stop him…except maybe for a young wizard called Fizbar… and his spoon.’
The Grimoire is J K Easter’s debut young adult fantasy novel. It is original, absorbing and a lovely piece of storytelling. With an unlikely protagonist in a wizarding world, it has creatures from folklore, hunchbacks, speaking wands and great characterisation.
Fizbar, a wizarding graduate, doesn’t realise this will change his own magical path. It will also reveal answers to his long forgotten questions about his past, as he is catapulted into the life of a fully-fledged wizard…The future of Sintar and magic is left hanging by a thread…

Reviews
By Matumba: The Grimoire is an excellent read for anyone who enjoys the Genre. Being a debut Novel for Mr Easter I found it quite engaging. It has awoken my inner child once more and I can’t wait to read what comes next. Although there are various similarities with an already huge counterpart I believe that its originality with the likes of talking wands and a race of hunchbacks to name but a few will have other readers like myself unable to put the book down and intrigued about what comes next. This last points by itself merit the 5 stars I have given it.
Light reader 1988: Completed the book in two days, great writing and easy to follow … Takes you on a magical journey from start to finish and you can visually imagine the characters and scenes of the story as you read all the chapters. Great book to get lost in and would recommend it to others. If you like the world of magic, this is definitely a book to get your hands on. Wish there was a follow up to this book, well I hope so. Fantastic writing.
Mr M C Iles: Jason Kurt Easter has created a masterful work in which wizards and the evil Lord Zalbar battle over the Grimoire – a magical book sought after by many and protected by the wizard’s Overlord. Young wizard Fizbar is tasked with an errand to settle a dispute between a hunchback – a race he dislikes – and Korrigans, sprites that have gone bad, only to find himself drawn deeper into grimoires conflict. This is an excellent read. I was unable to put the book down and read it from start to finish in one hit. I feel we can expect great things from Mr Easter, he’s an author to watch out for.
